During the fourth quarter, the number of Honolulu home sales declined from one year ago and the median price paid for a single family home decreased by 2.4% while the condominium price decreased by 1.1%. The total dollar volume of sales was $727.7 million in the fourth quarter, a decrease of $299.0 million, or 29.7%, from the $1,026.7 million in sales achieved in the same quarter last year.
The Honolulu Board of REALTORS® released the following annual resale figures for 2008. The Board analyzed data collected from the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) and provided the following statistics:

During 2008, the number of sales declined from one year ago and the median price paid for a single family home decreased by 3.0 percent and the median condominium price was unchanged from 2007. The following table provides the annual 2008 median prices for the Oahu neighborhood groups.
